23rd August 2007 – Gambells Rest, Picnic & Camping Area, Morton National Park

Situated 1k South of Bundanoon NSW. Upgraded recently, this park now has a large sheltered camping kitchen surrounded by new camping sites. Hot showers are provided in this park within walking distance of the Bundanoon shopping centre. There are plenty of walking tracks with one (Erith Coal Mine Track) starting from the camping area (1-hour return). At this time, electric BBQ’s are also provided (wood fires are prohibited) as well as town water. Park Use Fees Apply - Bookings Essential At Fitzroy Falls Information Centre

12th August 2007 Sheba Dam Reserve - Nundle District, NSW

Situated 11k East of Nundle, near Hanging Rock and accessed along Hanging Rock Road is Sheba Dam Reserve. A large area with plenty of shade, the reserve has tables, fireplaces, plenty of camping areas, eco friendly toilets, some bush walks, trout fishing and a jetty with ladder for swimming in summer. A lovely location adjacent to the dam with good views from camping sites. We recommend this camping area for a few days rest and relaxation.

10th June 2006 – Bendeela Picnic Area, N.S.W.

10th June 2006 – Bendeela Picnic Area – Located in Kangaroo Valley, this picnic area is reached by turning along Bendeela road 1k west of Kangaroo Valley Township and driving a further 7k along a sealed road. Adjacent to the Kangaroo River, this large park has toilets, water and plenty of camping areas either shaded or in the open on beautiful grassed areas. Abundant with Wombats, this is a great place to rest and relax. The river is suitable for canoes but due to algae bloom, swimming and fishing are prohibited at this time. Each long weekend, the area is patrolled by on site security guards (24 hours) and during school holidays during the weekends. No fires are permitted (Gas BBQ’s are OK if there is no total fire ban) and dogs are also banned. CDMA coverage is so so but ok for text messages. We haven’t found many places as good as this one and is highly recommended to anyone travelling in this district. Cars with caravans are not recommended on the road from Berry to Kangaroo Valley.

19th June 2006 – Fitzroy Dam Picnic Area

19th June 2006 – Fitzroy Dam Picnic Area - 1k South Fitzroy Falls - 15k North Kangaroo Valley - Southern Highlands NSW – This day area has a large picnic area with electric BBQ’s (free), tables, playground, toilets and a shelter shed with hot water. Plenty of parking space is available and this spot is recommended for a coffee break prior to driving onto the Information Centre at Fitzroy Falls.
