5th September 2007 - Wyangala Waters - Cowra District - N.S.W.

A short drive from Cowra, Wyangala Waters has many activities for the traveller, including boating, fishing, canoeing, sailing, walking trails and sandy beaches. A kiosk has fuel, bait, food and ice and powered and un-powered sites are available. Unfortunately, at this time, the dam was close to empty and boating facilities were limited. Several easy walks are available and the one to Balancing Rock provides a great view of the lake and surrounding areas.

21st August 2006 - Macquarie Woods, N.S.W.

21st August 2006 - Macquarie Woods, 28k West Bathurst or 26k South East Orange. Located 2k North of the Highway along a dirt road is a good spot near some ponds. The Caretaker, if around, will supply wood for camp fires. There are several walks around the camping area which is well treed and there are plenty of level places to camp. Carp inhabit the ponds and at one spot, it is possible to enter the water for a swim. The old wooden bridge takes you to a cairn, which describes the reason for this location. A good spot to relax and watch the world go by.
