7th September 2011 - Stephens Creek Rest Area

Approximately 50k South of Broken Hill and 57k North of Menindee on the Menindee / Broken Hill Road is Stephens Creek. This small area suitable for an overnight stay, is level and shaded. Although there are no facilities, it is worth a stop to have a walk along the river bed and give the legs a bit of a stretch. A good spot between Menindee and Broken Hill to have a cuppa.

23rd November 2007 - Murray River & Darling River Junction - Wentworth, N.S.W.

This day picnic area is a short distance from the town of Wentworth, just north of the NSW / Victorian border and is well worth a look. Picnic tables, BBQ’s, toilets, plenty of shade and an observation platform are all in this delightful park. A little further along the sealed road brings you to No 10 Weir which is another day area to take a few nice photos.

14th November 2007 - Benanee Lake, Euston / Balranald District, N.S.W.

Adjacent to Lake Benanee, 15k East of Euston and 65k West of Balranald is a large rest area with septic toilets, shelter sheds, boat ramp, bins and limited shady sites. This area is about 150 meters from the lake and a track from the Eastern of the end of the rest area provides limited access for 1 or two medium rigs. Although a large area at the eastern end of the track looks inviting, it is fine sand and suitable for 4WD only. The lake itself is shallow and cloudy but by walking our about 100m, a refreshing dip in thigh deep water is welcome in the extreme heat.
