17th May 2006 – Ellenborough Reserve – Located At Ellenborough approximately 35k West of Wauchope, this beautiful camping area adjacent to the river has a large flat, well-shaded camping area. This area is reached by turning off the Oxley Highway into Main Street, approximately 200 meters on the eastern side of the bridge over the Ellenborough River, opposite the sign to "Toms Creek". Pristine waters flow in the river, which may be navigated by small canoe. Fishing is permitted (Not sure if the fish know about this) and access to the river is not a problem. Long drop toilets and large BBQ’s are in place. Popular at weekends, this site is better visited during the week.
